Title: Canadian Stock Screener
Post by: burd on September 12, 2006, 11:18:42 PM
I am looking for a good Canadian stock screener. I use MSN Money deluxe screener for my U.S. stocks and it is very good, But I can not find a Canadian screener that even comes close to the MSN screener.
Anybody know of any good Canadian screeners?. What screener does the super stock picker use?

Cheers ;).

Hello burd,

Here are two links we can recommend to screen Canadian stocks:
  • GlobeInvestor stock filter (http://www.globeinvestor.com/v5/content/filters)
  • BusinessWeek stock screeners (http://prosearch.businessweek.com/businessweek/general_free_search.html)
BusinessWeek is more powerful but also more complex to use.
Also, I don't know how they compare to the one you use for US stocks.

And as far as the Super Stock Picker is concerned, we do not really use online screeners to do our stock research. We directly grab data from the web and our in-house software computes them to choose which stocks to recommend.

Cheers.

Hello,

BusinessWeek stock screeners - what is the latest link to it as the current one fails? I cannot find this screener using this link.

The second question: do you know when can I find quarter-to-quarter EPS% and ROA (or ROE) but also Current Ratio? I have tried with GlobeInvestor stock filter but cannot find.

Kind Regards,
manfretto

Found an article on the internet stating that businessweek shut down their free screeners: http://www.winninginvesting.com/stock_screeners.htm

I haven't used it but it appears Reuters also can screen CDN stocks
http://stockscreener.us.reuters.com/Stock/US/Index?quickscreen=gaarp

Just select International stocks, then in the 'Americas' region put a tick beside Canada. Shows 390 stocks total that can be screened

You can try ca.dojispace.com (http://ca.dojispace.com). It is a technical stock screener for Canada Exchange.
