Title: TSX Venture outlook
Post by: burd on November 29, 2010, 03:24:52 AM
Canadian small caps may offer exceptional returns in the next 5 years if the world recovery continues. The Chinese economy is always in the news. China's need for metal and recourses causes continuing high recourse prices and lower supply. What if China's economy cools? Don’t worry because India's economy is on a tear with an 8.5% GDP. India is about 10 years behind China so we should have huge demand for years to come. Canadian small caps should be poised for a huge rally. A problem with small cap exploration companies is they could not raise money to operate their business. With the recovery, things are changing and companies are starting to grow once again. The venture exchange is where it was in 2004 and still under 40% off its high. I have many other facts that I would like to share but ill keep it at this for now.
SSP portfolios should thrive in the recovery.
Where do you see the Venture exchange in 5 yrs?

5 years is even longer than a LEAPS trade !!

I personally think the Canadian markets are weak and will stay weak for sometime. Having said that, a large portion percentage wise of the venture is based on oil, and with news today of tensions rising in the middle east again, oil edges up once more. Same old story, but it can never be discounted.
