right now, I am trying to sort out the Canadian market, as I am new to it, however I have two Income Trusts that I like for now:  1/ E.D. Smith Income unit, and 2/ ARF Income trust.  Smith makes food, and ARF makes corrugated pipe, steel, plastic u name it.
Smith is a defensive/offensive play, with a 7% yield, and an upside of about $2.00.  ARF is a bit more offensive and in a lot of infrastructure plays.
Both last month showed me technical merit, which suggested higher moves, but before I post it, I will have to put some time in on each.
Another I liked is a rescource fund aministered by ScotiaBank, but I will have to look that one up.

Good Luck

Nick

Hello,
My 2 favourite income trust are: Penn West (pwt.un) $43, 9% yield ... excellent fundamentals, strong balance sheet (50/50 Oil & Gas) .... Secondly CHIP REIT (hot.un) $13.75, 7% ... REIT based in W.Canada ... owns hotels ... very stable and defensive.

A suggestion if you are into income trusts.  Not sure of the symbol.  Northwest stores income trust.
160 stores virtually no competition, look at the yield, and a possibility the operations will be taken over by a huge retailer. The stores of northwest stores in eastern canada were bought by the same retailer.  The biggest plus to northwest stores is profit margin and no competition.
