Title: How to use the recommended stock symbols?
Post by: Super Stock Picker on October 17, 2006, 02:18:26 PM
Hi,

Thank you for the buy and sell recommendations.

However the symbols should be linked to some kind of charts and stock price like Yahoo or Stockcharts.

Thanks.

Hello,

Indeed, the stock symbols given in the recommendations are to be used as stocks that trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange. What to input in another system will vary depending on which system you use.

For instance, with a Canadian stock broker, you will directly use the symbols as we give them.

But for other systems, you may have to add an extention that identify the Toronto Stock Exchange.

In the case of Yahoo! or Stockcharts, you have to add ".TO" after the symbol name. Special rules also apply for the complex Canadian stock tickers that could be in the form ABC.SV.A

On our side, we do this translation automatically for you if you enter the Canadian symbol in our ticker search box (you can find it at the left of our menu bar on all pages) or if you click on the "charts/quotes/news" links provided in all the portfolio description pages.
